Interrupted Vehicle Burglary leads to Shots Fired

On Friday October 25, 2024 at approximately 4:01a.m., the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety (RPDPS) received a 911 call regarding a possible attempted vehicle burglary occurring on Barbi Lane in Rohnert Park. It was reported that two suspects attempted to burglarize the vehicle and upon interruption by an area resident, a firearm was discharged by one of the suspects as they were fleeing the scene.
RPDPS Police personnel arrived on scene within minutes of the initial dispatch and located evidence of a firearm being discharged in the vicinity of the vandalized vehicle. Additionally, RPDPS was made aware of a house on Beverly Drive being struck by a stray bullet. At this time, RPDPS believes that the stray bullet was fired during the incident on Barbi Lane. No one was struck or injured as a result of the discharged firearm.
