Community Spirit Shines as New Foot Bridge Installed on Guy Rd. in Old Fort
Today, crews from BRIDGE, the North Carolina Forest Service, and the U.S. National Guard completed the installation of a footbridge on Guy Rd. in Old Fort, creating vital access for a family to reach their home once again. In a true show of gratitude and community spirit, the family prepared lunch for everyone involved in the project. This heartfelt gesture reflects the deep resilience and close-knit spirit of Old Fort, where neighbors and agencies come together to support one another through challenging times. The community’s unwavering dedication to rebuilding and lifting each other up serves as an inspiration to all. "The strength of our community lies in the partnerships and teamwork that come alive in times of need. The dedication we’ve seen from agencies, volunteers, and especially the local families embodies the heart of Old Fort. It’s a testament to the resilience and spirit of our residents—always ready to lend a hand, share a meal, and stand together," said Andrew Pressley, Deputy Director of Emergency Management.
