Culver City Police Arrest Assault with a Deadly Weapon Suspect
Report Number: 24-5597
At approximately 9:17 pm on Friday, October 25, 2024, Culver City Police responded to a call for service of an assault with a deadly weapon that had occurred on the 3800 block of Sepulveda Boulevard. Within one minute of receiving the call, officers were on scene and provided medical aid to the victim who was bleeding profusely from a head injury. Culver City Fire personnel arrived at the scene and the victim was transported to a local hospital to receive additional treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
Multiple witnesses were located by officers, and they learned that a female suspect was seen in the area carrying a long metal pole. The suspect approached the victim and asked if she had any money. When the victim declined, the suspect then attacked, striking the victim repeatedly in the head with the metal pole. The victim attempted to run away, even running into the street to get away from the suspect. Witnesses nearby began to shout at the suspect to stop the attack. The suspect then fled on foot south on Sepulveda Boulevard and out of view.
Culver City Police, including the CCPD K9 Unit immediately began canvassing the area for the suspect. Officers spotted the suspect believed to be responsible for the attack and were able to take the 27-year-old, Tiarea Janae Davis of Culver City, into custody safely. The case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.
Anyone with additional information regarding this case is encouraged to contact the Culver City Police Department Public Information Officer, Jennifer Atenza, at (310) 253- 6120, email [email protected], or the Watch Commander at (310) 253-6202.
