* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Northern Cherokee County in southeastern Kansas... Southwestern Crawford County in southeastern Kansas...

* Until 930 PM CDT.

* At 844 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Altamont, moving northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include... Cherokee, Weir, Sherman, Scammon, Mccune, West Mineral, Roseland, Skidmore, Hallowell, Sherwin, and Carona.

* AFFECTED AREAS: CHEROKEE, KS ... CRAWFORD, KS

Instructions:

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for southeastern Kansas.
