Narrative: | |||
On Saturday, October 26, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Los Robles Health System, and Goebel Adult Community Center united to host the DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. This event took place at two convenient locations: Los Robles Hospital at 215 W. Janss Road and Goebel Adult Community Center at 1385 E. Janss Road, both in Thousand Oaks. Each location provided a hassle-free drive-through drop-off process, allowing community members to easily participate. Sheriff personnel collaborated closely with volunteers from Los Robles Health System and Goebel Community Center to assist in collecting unneeded and expired prescription medications, including tablets, capsules, and patches. Thanks to these collaborative efforts, our local law enforcement and community partners successfully removed a total of 328.4 pounds of medication from circulation during this impactful four-hour event. This initiative not only promotes public safety but also reinforces the importance of responsible medication disposal. |
