TIMING...From noon today to 7 PM EDT this evening.
WINDS...West 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 27 percent.
TEMPERATURES...In the mid to upper 70s.
IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended, including fire pits.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly due to a combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and dry fuels. Any fires that develop may quickly get out of control and become difficult to contain.
Statewide Ban on Outdoor Fires—Use Extreme Caution!
With the driest October in over 100 years, NJ has issued a Stage 3 fire restriction:
All outdoor fires are prohibited unless in an elevated stove using propane, natural gas, or electricity ( this includes bonfires and residential fire pits).
No wood or charcoal fires allowed; no torches or fireworks permitted.
Ban applies on all public and private properties.
