Registration for winter recreation opens today at 12 pm; Attend the next CAPS forum Nov. 13; Provide feedback to PATH on Nov. 12

REMINDER: Registration for winter recreation opens at noon!

The Hoboken Division of Recreation will open registration for its winter youth programs on today, Nov. 1, at 12 p.m. Registration is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration will close on Friday, Nov. 22, at 5 p.m. Residents are encouraged to sign up early to secure their spots.

This season’s programs include instructional basketball for children ages 6-8, competitive basketball programs for 3rd to 8th graders, and wrestling for participants ages 6 to 14.

Please note, instructional basketball for kindergarten students as well as first and second graders will be offered in two sessions. Children can only participate in one sessions. Registration for the second session will open on Nov. 22 at noon. 

Fees are $50 for residents and $80 for non-residents. Participants eligible for free or reduced lunch may register at no cost.

Schedules will be announced following the close of registration.

Meet with Hoboken Public Safety representatives at CAPS

The next Hoboken CAPS meeting will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 13, at The Hive, 1000 Park Ave., from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. 

CAPS, or Community And Public Safety, gives residents the opportunity to engage with Hoboken public safety officials, including representatives of Hoboken Police, Hoboken Fire, Hoboken Office of Emergency Management, Hoboken EMS and Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and the Hoboken Health Division.   

Light refreshments will be served.  

Residents encouraged to attend informational session on Hoboken PATH terminal closure

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey will close the Hoboken PATH station from 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 30, 2025, until 5 a.m. on Feb. 25, 2025, for significant track and station upgrades.  

The City encourages residents to attend the first in-person public information session scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 5:30 p.m.  in the Hoboken Terminal, 1 Hudson Place. Representatives from PANYNJ and PATH will be available to discuss the closure and plans for travel alternatives for commuters.
