Wilmington Police arrest man in connection to September 4 fatal shooting incident:
Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection to a September 4 fatal shooting incident.
On September 4, at approximately 10:28 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 700 block of East 22nd Street in reference to a shooting incident. Upon arrival, police located a gunshot victim – 19-year-old Kwamir Wise – who was transported to the hospital in critical condition, and later succumbed to his injuries.
The case was assigned to Detectives Brandon Mosley and Thomas Rittenhouse of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of their investigation, Detectives Mosley and Rittenhouse identified 19-year-old Amir Henry as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest. On November 1, with the assistance of the New Castle County Police Department, Henry was located in the unit block of Bedford Drive and taken into custody without incident.
Henry has been charged with the following offenses:
- Murder (First Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
