* Flash Flood Warning for... Southeastern Washington County in east central Missouri... Northern Iron County in southeastern Missouri... Northwestern Madison County in southeastern Missouri... Northern Reynolds County in southeastern Missouri... Southwestern Saint Francois County in southeastern Missouri...

* Until 330 PM CST.

* At 1227 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 inch in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Bismarck, Ironton, Park Hills, Reynolds, Pilot Knob, Iron Mountain Lake, Arcadia, Belleview, Glover, Oates, Iron Mountain, Roselle, Centerville, Caledonia, Black, Lesterville, Hogan, Chloride, Granite and Corridon. This includes the following State Parks... Johnsons Shut-Ins State Park, Fort Davidson Historic Site, Elephant Rocks State Park and Taum Sauk Mountain State Park.

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
