Crime Blotter for the Week of October 27, 2024 – November 2, 2024

The following is a synopsis of crimes reported for the week of October 27, 2024 – November 2, 2024.        

October 27, 2024

  • No significant activity.  
 
October 28, 2024
  • Grand Theft:
1425 Bradbury Avenue (EVgo). Between 12 AM on September 4, 2024 and 11:59 PM on October 28, 2024, the suspect(s) unknown removed several charging stations charging cables and damaged the switch gear box in the process. The loss was approximately $70,000. Third incident.
 
  • Petty Theft:
902 Mountain Avenue (Arco). On October 28, 2024 at 10:30AM, the suspects unknown, a female black adult and four male black adults, entered the location and stole multiple items. The unknown suspects have previously stolen from the location on three other occasions. The suspects fled the area in a black SUV. The loss was approximately $270. Surveillance video is available.

October 30, 2024
  • Burglary (Commercial):
1862 Business Center Drive (Pool 21 Duarte). On October 30, 2024 at 2:16 AM, the suspect unknown entered the business by cutting a hole through the roll up door to the rear of the location. Video surveillance showed a male suspect walking out of the location and out of view. Nothing stolen at time of the report.

November 1, 2024
  • Grand theft (Shoplifting):
1450 Mountain Avenue (Harbor Freight). On November 1, 2024 at 10:42 AM, the suspects unknown, two male hispanic adults, one wearing a black shirt and black jeans and the second wearing a grey shirt and black jeans, entered the location. The suspects were observed by an employee selecting a “Haulmaster” hand truck and placing a “Predator” generator on it and exiting the store without attempting to purchase any of the items. The suspects placed the generator into the bed of an older white Chevy pickup truck and fled westbound on Central Avenue and out of view. Surveillance video is available. The loss was approximately $1,100.

  • Be aware of your surroundings.
  • Remember where you parked your car.
  • If shopping late in the day or after dark, park in an area that is well lighted.
  • Shop in pairs at the very least.
  • As you return to your car, make sure to keep your car key in your hand.
  • Do not leave packages visible in your car. Lock them in the trunk or, if possible, take them directly home.
  • Avoid carrying large amounts of cash.
