Heritage Days Parade on Saturday, November 9, 2024, to impact travel on Saint Helena Island
The 40th annual Penn Center Heritage Days Celebration is underway. The 3-day event is held at the Penn Center on Saint Helena Island to honor the Gullah Geechee Culture.
On Saturday, November 9, 2024, the Heritage Days Parade will start at 9 a.m. Traffic in the area around the Penn Center, as well as Sea Island Parkway and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive will be impacted as a result.
From 8:45 a.m. to 10 a.m., Sea Island Parkway will be reduced to one lane of travel. Deputies will be conducting traffic control during this time.
Also, from 8:45 a.m. to 1 p.m., Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive will be closed to all vehicle traffic.
There will be several other locations in the area where the public will see deputies conducting traffic control.
