Strickland Charged for Theft and Sale of Car Parts
Detective Kyle Gibson with McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 62-year-old Jimmy Dean Strickland of Marion with felony Obtaining Property By False Pretense. He received a secured bond in the amount of $2,000.
On August 13, Deputy Dakota Castle spoke with an individual at the Sheriff’s Office in regards to stolen property taken from his residence.
The victim stated that several vehicle parts, including 6 radiators and 12 electric motors, were missing and that he had video footage of Strickland on the victim’s property.
Upon further investigation by Det. Gibson, it was discovered that Strickland was in possession of the car parts and had been selling them to a local business who was unaware the parts were stolen.
