Veterans Day Parade/Traffic Advisory -11/11

This is a traffic advisory for Veterans Day, Monday, November 11th.

The Borough of Highland Park and the City of New Brunswick will be hosting a parade to honor the veterans of our armed services. The parade will begin in Highland Park at the Doughboy Monument (Route 27 & Woodbridge Avenue) and then continue to proceed down Route 27 into New Brunswick.

The parade will start after a ceremony in front of the Doughboy Monument. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. Vehicles will start being restricted from traveling in the vicinity of the Doughboy Monument at 10:30 a.m. Once the parade starts, vehicles will be restricted from traveling on Route 27 until the parade passes into New Brunswick. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area of Route 27 between 10:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. 

In order to prepare for the parade, parking will be restricted on Route 27 on November 11th from 6 a.m. until the conclusion of the parade.

In case of inclement weather all members of the community are invited to join us for a small ceremony at 11 AM at the Highland Park  Fire Department, 220 South 5th Avenue.
