Flood Advisory until 01:30AM Friday

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of west central Texas, including the following counties, Coke, Coleman, Concho, Runnels, Taylor and Tom Green.

* WHEN...Until 130 AM CST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1028 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Ballinger, Winters, Maverick, Bronte, Miles, Tuscola, Lawn, Novice, Hatchel, Norton, Benoit, Crews, Rowena, Wingate, Bradshaw, Talpa, Lowake, Tennyson, Glen Cove and Orient. - This includes the following Low Water Crossings... FM 1086 crossing Red Lake Creek, FM 1692 crossing The Draw, FM 0383 crossing Quarry Creek, FM 1692 crossing Sales Branch, FM 1692 crossing Concho River, Saynor crossing Mule Creek, Poverty Canyon crossing Mule Creek, Ratliff crossing just east of Highway 277, Juniper crossing Juniper Creek and Juniper Road crossing just east of Highway 277. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
