* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of west central Texas, including the following counties, Crockett, Irion, Schleicher and Tom Green.
* WHEN...Until 145 AM CST.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1046 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... San Angelo, Mertzon, Christoval, Knickerbocker, Tankersley, Sherwood, Twin Buttes Reservoir, Lake Nasworthy, San Angelo State Park, O.C. Fisher Reservoir, Goodfellow Air Force Base, Wall, Grape Creek, Veribest, Us-67 Near The Irion-Tom Green County Line, The Intersection Of Ranch Road 1828 And Ranch Road 915, The Intersection Of Us-190 And Ranch Road 1828, Us-190 Near The Crockett-Sutton County Line and Harriet. - This includes the following Low Water Crossings... Instructions:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
