Due to the current weather conditions, DSHS will not be able to administer Flu or COVID vaccinations today, as previously planned.  Many of their staff members are from out of town and travelling is not advised due to potential flooding conditions.  We apologize for any inconvenience, but safety is the utmost concern.  This event will be rescheduled at a late date and DSHS/Armie will send out updated information when it becomes available. 
 
If you are interested in having either vaccine administered to you at home, please contact Jessica Anaya at DSHS: 325-387-2234 (office) or 432-381-8552 (cell), or Armie Sanchez at the Senior Center: 325-387-5657.

Dear Nixle User, 

The City of Sonora Senior Center will be hosting a Flu and COVID vaccine event on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 10:30AM to 1:30PM.  The Texas Department of State Health Services Sonora Clinic will be administering these vaccines, and this event is open to the public and FREE of charge.  The only vaccines available at this event are the low-dose Flu Shot and Moderna COVID single-dose shot; COVID booster shots are no longer administered as this has now become an annual vaccination only.  If you have questions, please contact Jessica Anaya of DSHS at 432-381-8552 or Armie Sanchez at the Senior Center at 325-387-5657.
 
If you are a homebound client of the Senior Center, we ask that you please wait at home to receive your meal before proceeding to this event, otherwise your meal will not be delivered.  If you would like to receive either vaccination and are unable to attend this event, please call Jessica or Armie to make arrangements for DSHS to schedule a date and time to visit you at home for this purpose.
