Update!
As per PSEG and the Haledon Fire Department, the gas leak has been successfully repaired, and the situation is now rectified. We thank everyone for their cooperation.
Public Service Announcement
Attention Residents:
On behalf of Mayor Michael Johnson, Haledon Emergency Management Coordinator Carlos Aymat, and Chief of Police Angelo J. Daniele, we would like to inform you that at 45 Valley View Road, a road work crew has inadvertently struck a gas line. PSE&G is currently on the scene and is working alongside the Haledon Fire Department and the Haledon Department of Public Works to manage the situation.
We want to reassure you that the scene is under control as of this writing. Additionally, the Public Safety Academy has been notified, and there is no need to evacuate the building at this time as per PSEG.
The Passaic County Office of Emergency Management has also been alerted.
For everyone's safety, we ask that the public avoid the area to allow workers to address the situation effectively.
