LOCAL FOREST FIRES 
Franklin Lakes PD is aware of the smoke haze and odor of smoke within the borough. The New Jersey Forest Fire Service remains on scene of a wildfire burning in the area of Pompton Lakes, Passaic County near I-287 S and the Cannonball Bridge. This wildfire is creating a widespread haze, along with an odor of smoke and falling ash within the Borough of Franklin Lakes as well as neighboring jurisdictions. Please keep this in mind when contacting your local law enforcement agency and do not hesitate to call if you see fire / flames.
