Evergy’s staff, who are working here in town to restore power, have informed the City that this ongoing outage (caused by a vehicle striking an Evergy transmission pole) is expected to continue for several hours and possibly into the evening. We understand that this is not the news anyone was hoping for. We want you to know that City electric staff are working to provide strategic support to Evergy and their staff, as they work diligently to restore their damaged transmission pole. It has been brought to our attention that the outage has also affected Fidelity Internet service. Those repairs will also take a substantial amount of time. We do not have an accurate time for power to be restored and we want to avoid guessing. We know this is frustrating. We appreciate your patience during this time.
