Wilmington Police arrest three males, recover stolen vehicle:
Wilmington Police have arrested three males and recovered a stolen vehicle.
On November 6, at approximately 2:20 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division were in the area of Dupont Road and Lancaster Pike when they observed a stolen vehicle. Police attempted to conduct a vehicle stop, at which time the vehicle disregarded and fled the area. A short time later, the vehicle was located in the area of East 12th Street and Hay Road where three male subjects fled from the vehicle on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, police took 18-year-old Shameiz Johnson, and two 17-year-old male juveniles into custody without further incident, and recovered a loaded 9mm handgun.
Johnson has been charged with the following offense in addition to an outstanding warrant:
- Resisting Arrest
The first 17-year-old male juvenile has been charged with the following offenses in addition to traffic violations and outstanding warrants:
- Receiving a Stolen Vehicle
- Disregarding a Police Officer’s Signal
- Conspiracy (Second Degree)
The second 17-year-old male juvenile has been charged with the following offense:
- Resisting Arrest
