SUSPECT: Anthony Burgos, a 39-year-old resident of unincorporated Bloomington
SUMMARY: On Sunday, November 10, 2024, at about 1:47 PM, deputies responded to an in progress residential burglary in the 18000 block of 9th Street, unincorporated Bloomington. When deputies arrived, they learned the suspect, later identified as Anthony Burgos, attempted to force entry into a residence and was on the roof. Burgos fled the area and was not initially located. Several area residents reported similar recent incidents. A records check revealed Burgos was a wanted parolee at large.
At about 3:57 PM, deputies responded to a 911 call which reported Burgos returned and was attempting to break into a vehicle. Witnesses reported Burgos was armed with a firearm when he fled. Sheriff’s Aviation and additional officers from the Fontana Police Department assisted with the search.
At about 5:18 PM, after an extensive search, deputies located Burgos hiding in a resident’s backyard. Burgos was uncooperative and possessed an edged weapon, however, a firearm was not located.
During the arrest, a deputy suffered minor injuries but did not require professional medical care. Burgos was arrested and, once at West Valley Detention Center, it was discovered he concealed narcotics on his person. He was booked for several felonies, including attempted residential burglary, resisting/obstructing an executive officer, bringing narcotics into a correctional facility, and the parole violation warrant.
