DATE/TIME: Tuesday, November 12, 2024 / 11:05 A.M.

INCIDENT: Violation of a Criminal Protective Order / Use of Violence Towards an Executive Officer / Violation of Post Release Community Supervision

LOCATION: 8200 block of Cherry Avenue, Unincorporated Fontana

VICTIM(S): Adult Female
                   San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputy

SUSPECT: Aldo Maldonado Romero, a 33-year-old Resident of Unincorporated Fontana

SUMMARY: On Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at about 11:05 a.m., deputies responded to a 911 call from the 8200 block of Cherry Avenue, unincorporated Fontana. The reporting party, later found to be Aldo Maldonado Romero, a 33-year-old resident of unincorporated Fontana, told Sheriff’s Dispatch there was an emergency and disconnected.

Upon arrival, deputies learned Maldonado was the restrained person in a Criminal Protective Order, involving the same victim as this incident, and was on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) for elder abuse involving the same victim. Deputies learned Maldonado was at the incident location, but fled prior to their arrival, and again violated the protective order.

At about 11:43 a.m., a deputy located Maldonado on Almond Avenue, south of Foothill Boulevard. Maldonado acted erratically and deputies requested medical personnel respond to evaluate him. Suddenly, Maldonado punched a Deputy Sheriff and struggled with deputies. Deputies were able to overcome his resistance, defended themselves, and arrested Maldonado. He was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation and later booked into the West Valley Detention Center for several felonies. The involved deputy suffered minor injuries which did not require professional medical treatment.
