PATH meeting location change; Senior scam education announced; Attend Transgender Day of Remembrance vigil
Change of venue for PATH public information session in Jersey City
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has announced a change of venue for tonight's public information session in Jersey City, on the Hoboken Path Station closure.
The meeting will now be held at the PATH’s Exchange Place Station, 2 Exchange Pl., Jersey City. Representatives of PANYNJ and PATH will be available from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., to discuss the upcoming closure of the PATH terminal in Hoboken.
A virtual information session is also scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 10 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. For more information or to register for the virtual session, please visit panynj.gov/HobokenClosure
Senior scam education session to be held Nov. 18
Seniors are invited to attend an educational session on Monday, Nov. 18, at 11 a.m. at the Multi-Service Center, 124 Grand St., to learn strategies for avoiding fraud and scams. Assemblyman John Allen, in collaboration with the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, Division of Consumer Affairs, will host this event and provide seniors with essential information on recognizing and protecting against various scams, including IRS phone scams, lottery fraud, and the grandparent scam, which often target seniors through phone calls, emails, and other methods.
Attendees will receive consumer briefs detailing best practices for hiring and working with regulated professionals, as well as contact information for professional boards. For additional consumer alerts and updates, visit the Division of Consumer Affairs’ website at www.njconsumeraffairs.gov.
Attend the Transgender Day of Remembrance Candlelight Vigil
The City of Hoboken and the City’s Pride Advisory Committee invite the Hoboken community to a candlelight vigil in honor of Transgender Day of Remembrance on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. at Stevens Park, located at the corner of Fifth and Hudson Streets.
The event honors and remembers the lives of transgender individuals lost to violence and discrimination. Community members are encouraged to come together in support and solidarity to affirm Hoboken’s commitment to inclusivity, dignity, and respect for all.
All are welcome to attend.
