Wilmington Police arrest five males on gun charges, recover five firearms:

Wilmington Police have arrested five males on gun charges and recovered five firearms following an investigation.

On November 8, at approximately 10:48 a.m., members of the Safe Streets Task Force responded to the 2600 block of Bowers Street to conduct a firearms investigation. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with a male subject, who fled into a residence in that block. Police made contact with 19-year-old Quadir Sanders-Smith, 22-year-old Shalier Graham, 20-year-old Michael Waller, 27-year-old Michael Sanders, and a 17-year-old male juvenile, who were taken into custody without incident. Following an investigation, police recovered a .380 caliber handgun, two 9mm handguns, two .40 caliber handguns, 72.7 grams of marijuana, 1.88 grams of crack cocaine, and .96 grams of heroin.

Sanders-Smith has been charged with the following offense:

  • Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was released on $5,000 unsecured bail.

Graham has been charged with the following offenses:
  • Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Ten Counts
  • Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $45,000 cash-only bail.

Waller has been charged with the following offenses:
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver – Two Counts
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $5,000 secured bail.

Sanders has been charged with the following offense:
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $5,000 cash-only bail.

The 17-year-old male juvenile has been charged with the following offenses in addition to an outstanding warrant:
  • Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Ten Counts
  • Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the New Castle County Juvenile Detention Center on $55,000 secured bail.
