🔥 Jennings Creek Fire - Afternoon Update🔥 I just left the daily stakeholder meeting, and I have some positive nùews to share! The New Jersey side of the fire is progressing well. If things continue on this path, we expect to release more encouraging information tonight around 8 PM. The New Jersey Forest Fire team will continue to assist New York State, and they will be conducting back burning in certain areas. If you notice increased smoke, please know it’s due to this controlled backfiring, not an escalation of the fire. Expect to see smoke for the next few weeks as operations continue. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection is actively monitoring air quality and has confirmed that there are currently no health concerns.
