McDowell EOC Update 11/13/24
McDowell County Storm Debris Collection Update: Right Of Way Pick Up Ongoing
On November 13, 2024, storm debris collection efforts continue across McDowell County, with crews actively working to clear impacted communities. Today, four trucks operated in the Pleasant Gardens community, one truck in the Woodlawn community, and five trucks in the Marion community. Crews are collecting storm-related debris along the right-of-way (ROW) in these areas, and residents are encouraged to place debris within 10 feet of the ROW to facilitate efficient pickup. Thank you to everyone for your cooperation as we work together to restore our communities. For more information, residents can contact the Helene Hotline at 828-652-3241. As a reminder, do not place storm debris in bags. Bagged household waste will not be picked up by storm debris contractors, and should be handled through normal waste pickup or taken to a convenience center. Separating your debris into these categories will ensure efficient pickup of debris along the ROW.
