Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Theft Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. requests the public’s help in identifying the suspect pictured below, who stole a victim’s duffel bag from in front of her residence on November 11, 2024.
The theft occurred at approximately 3:56 p.m. in the 40 block of Monroe Street. The victim left her bag in front of her residence while she was at the back door.
The suspect, an African-American male with long dreadlocks, was captured on surveillance video taking the bag containing the victim’s personal belongings. He rode a red bicycle and wore a grey polo hooded sweatshirt featuring a logo on the front, black pants, and grey sneakers.
Director Miranda Sr. urges anyone with information about the suspect’s identity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
