The City of Tonkawa Public Works crews will be conducting our annual Christmas Tree Installation Operations at the intersection of E. Grand Avenue and 7th Street.  Therefore, the intersection will be closed.  The intersection of E. Grand Avenue and 6th Street will also be closed.  The 200 block of E. Grand Avenue may see temporary closures throughout the day.  It is suggested that parking within the 200 block of E. Grand be limited, as well.  This operation is expected to begin around 8:00 a.m. and last until possibly 3:00 p.m., today.  The roadway and intersections will be reopened for traffic if the operation is completed early. 
Please detour from these areas to not cause traffic congestion for our Public Works Employees.  Passing posted barricades is prohibited by law and will be strictly enforced. 
It should be noted that the placement of the City Christmas Tree and installation of Christmas decorations will begin the restrictions of large trucks in the downtown area (as to not damage the tree or Christmas decorations).  Signage will be posted and this restriction will be strictly enforced.
