...Moderate to heavy snowfall for the north Friday... .A moist warm front will move across the region Friday driving moderate to heavy snowfall. Expect snow to transition to rain late Friday at sea level with the exception of Klukwan west to the border.

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches along Haines highway. 8 to 15 inches Chilkat Peninsula and upper portions of Klondike highway. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Municipality of Skagway and Haines Borough and Klukwan.

* WHEN...From late Thursday night through Friday evening. Upper Klondike highway will hold on to snow through Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult.

* ADDITIONAL INFO... Haines highway could be sheltered from the higher snowfall amounts.
