**Position:**
**Sumpter Township Firefighter (Paid-On-Call)**
In this paid-on-call position, you will respond to fire, rescue, medical, and other emergency incidents. You will also participate in training and maintenance activities and provide fire safety education and community relations to the public.
The starting pay for experienced and fully trained firefighters is **$22.08 per hour**. New hires will start as probationary firefighters until they complete specific training, which includes Fire Fighter 1 & 2, Medical First Responder, and NIMS 100/200. *Probationary employees will be paid at a lower rate during this period.*
No Experience Required – We Will Train You and Pay You to Do So!
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must reside within Sumpter Township or very close proximity
- Must have a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record
- Must pass a job-specific physical and drug screening
