Wilmington Police arrest three men in connection to September shooting incident:

Wilmington Police have arrested three men in connection to a September shooting incident following an investigation.

On September 9, at approximately 3:08 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 1800 block of North Market Street in reference to a shooting incident. Upon arrival, police located a 16-year-old male gunshot victim, who was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

The case was assigned to Detective Jessica Gledhill of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of her investigation, Detective Gledhill identified a 14-year-old male juvenile, a 16-year-old male juvenile, and 20-year-old Davierre Dryden as suspects, and obtained warrants for their arrest. On September 26, the 14-year-old male juvenile was taken into custody without incident. On October 8, the 16-year-old male juvenile was taken into custody without incident. On November 8, police executed a search warrant in the 2500 block of North Jefferson Street and took Davierre Dryden into custody without incident.

The 14-year-old male juvenile has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Assault (First Degree)
  • Conspiracy (Second Degree)
He was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and was committed to the New Castle County Juvenile Detention Center on $60,000 cash-only bail.

The 16-year-old male juvenile has been charged with the following offenses:
  • Assault (First Degree)
  • Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Two Counts
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  • Conspiracy (Second Degree) – Two Counts
He was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and was committed to the New Castle County Juvenile Detention Center on $31,000 cash-only bail.

Dryden has been charged with the following offenses:
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
  • Reckless Endangering (First Degree) – Three Counts
  • Discharging a Firearm on a City Street
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $75,000 cash-only bail.
