Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun and drug charges.
On November 9, at approximately 8:59 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services were in the 1600 block of West 2nd Street when they observed a male subject acting in a suspicious manner. Police attempted to make contact with the male subject, at which time he discarded a firearm and fled on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, police took 20-year-old Ryan Miller into custody, and recovered a loaded .380 caliber handgun that had previously been reported stolen, and 2.2 grams of crack cocaine.
Miller has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Two Counts
- Receiving a Stolen Firearm
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver
- Resisting Arrest
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $34,000 cash-only bail.
