Wilmington Police arrest man in connection with October shots fired incident:
Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection with an October shots fired incident.
On October 31, at approximately 5:55 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 2400 block of North Market Street in reference to a shots fired incident with no injuries. The case was assigned to the Gun Intelligence Unit. Through the course of their investigation, members of the Gun Intelligence Unit identified 19-year-old Kyon Harvey as a suspect, and obtained warrants for his arrest.
On November 10, at approximately 9:58 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division conducted a traffic stop in the 3100 block of North Market Street. Kyon Harvey was found to be a passenger in the vehicle, and was removed from the vehicle. At this time, Harvey physically resisted arrest and fled on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, Harvey was taken into custody without incident, and police recovered a loaded .40 caliber handgun.
Harvey has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Four Counts
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number
- Discharging a Firearm on a City Street
- Reckless Endangering (First Degree) – Four Counts
- Assault (Second Degree)
- Resisting Arrest
- Criminal Mischief Under $1,000
