Wilmington Police have arrested a wanted man on gun and drug charges.
On November 11, at approximately 4:40 a.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 800 block of North Market Street in reference to a suspicious person. Upon arrival, police attempted to make contact with a male subject who fled on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, police took 40-year-old Milton Stevens into custody without incident. Stevens was found to be in possession of a loaded 8mm handgun, 277 Alprazolam pills, 5 Xanax pills, 54 Oxycodone pills, 14 Morphine pills, and 16 Amphetamine pills.
Stevens has been charged with the following offenses in addition to an outstanding warrant:
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Two Counts
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Possession of a Controlled Substance – Eight Counts
- Resisting Arrest
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $16,500 cash-only bail.
