INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Onaga Trail / Elata Avenue, Yucca Valley
VICTIM(S): David Garcia Valdez, 45-year-old Male Resident of Yucca Valley (Deceased)
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at approximately 8:20 a.m., deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff's Station responded to the intersection of Onaga Trail and Elata Avenue in Yucca Valley for a report of a traffic collision. The traffic collision involved a 2000 Ford truck and an electric motorcycle. The driver of the electric motorcyle was identified by the Coroners Division as David Garcia Valdez. Valdez suffered significant injuries and deputies along with members of the San Bernardino County Fire Department attempted life-saving measures. Valdez was transporteded by ambulance to Hi-Desert Medical Center where he succummed to his injures.
The driver of the Ford truck remained at the scene of the traffic collision and was identified as a 37-year-old female resident of Yucca Valley. There is no information indicating alcohol, drugs, or excessive speed were factors in this collision.
