Crime Alert Bulletin Covering the Week of November 4-10, 2024
When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street.
Robberies
There were two robberies during the past week.
On Saturday, 11-09-24, at approximately 12:55 p.m., a group of juveniles entered JD Sports at the Serramonte Center, stole approximately $4,000 worth of merchandise, and fled in different directions. An employee stated that one of the suspects rammed his shoulder into him as he walked by. This suspect, a 16-year-old Richmond resident, was located on foot, arrested, and booked into the Youth Services Center for robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime. A second suspect, a 15-year-old Richmond resident, was located by an officer on a bus, arrested, and booked into the Youth Services Center for grand theft, conspiracy to commit a crime, and an additional offense.
On Sunday, 11-10-24, at approximately 6:10 p.m., at the bus stop on Mission Street and Goethe Street, a victim had three necklaces ripped from her neck by three unknown suspects. The victim stated that one of the necklaces was worth $200, but she did not know the value of the other two. The victim described the suspects as Black male juveniles wearing dark clothing, possibly with masks and jeans. This investigation is continuing.
Residential Burglaries
There were no residential burglaries during the past week.
Commercial Burglaries
There was one commercial burglary during the past week.
On Monday, 11-04-24, at approximately 3:53 a.m., officers were dispatched to Cigarettes Cheaper on Mission Street on a report of a commercial burglary. Four unknown suspects forced entry through the metal gate and front door, stealing approximately $5,000 worth of cigarettes, a cash register, and a cash till with $400. The suspects fled in a gray Audi. The four suspects were described as Black males, approximately 20 to 25 years old, wearing all-black clothing, hoods, and ski masks.
Vehicle Burglaries
There were two vehicle burglaries during the past week.
- 100 block of Vale Street—unknown if anything was taken from a 2015 Chevrolet SS. A driver’s side window was broken. Occurred between 8:00 p.m. on 11-08-24 and 7:00 a.m. on 11-09-24.
- 800 block of Green Ridge Drive—front gate opener and garage door opener were taken from a 2014 Toyota Prius. The car may have been left unlocked. Occurred between 10:05 a.m. on 11-10-24 and 2:05 p.m. on 11-11-24. **Online report.
Stolen Vehicles
There were six stolen vehicles during the past week. Five vehicles were recovered.
- Castillo Street and Geneva Avenue—a theft of a 1999 Acura CL. Occurred on 11-04-24 between 10:15 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. **Recovered by DCPD on 11-05-24.
- 300 block of South Hill Boulevard—a theft of a 2001 Ford F250. Occurred on 11-05-24 at approximately 3:45 a.m. **Recovered by Oakland PD on 11-06-24.
- 200 block of Oriente Street—a theft of a 2020 Acura MDX. Occurred between 3:30 p.m. on 11-06-24 and 3:00 a.m. on 11-07-24. **Recovered by SFPD on 11-07-24.
- 100 block of First Avenue—a theft of a 2022 Honda Civic. Occurred on 11-07-24 at approximately 12:54 a.m. **Recovered by DCPD on 11-07-24.
- King Drive and Bromley Court—a theft of a 2023 Infiniti Q50. Occurred on 11-08-24 between 7:00 p.m. and 11:50 p.m. **Recovered by San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office on 11-09-24.
- 700 block of Pointe Pacific Drive—a theft of a 2023 Nissan Titan. Occurred between 11:30 p.m. on 11-10-24 and 7:00 a.m. on 11-11-24.
Miscellaneous
- There were 150 cases taken.
- There were 10 domestic disturbance cases reported.
- There were 7 cases involving an involuntary psychiatric hold.
- There were 9 malicious mischief/vandalism cases reported.
- There were 2 cases for public intoxication.
- There were 5 hit-and-run collisions reported.
- There were 5 narcotics-related cases taken.

SCAM ALERT: DCPD Phone Number Being Used to Spoof
Currently, the Daly City Police Department is aware of a phone scam impersonating officers of the Daly City Police Department. The number that's being "Spoofed" by scammers is 650-991-8119, which is the front desk line of the Police Department. This phone number only accepts phone calls and is unable to make phone calls. If you receive a call from the phone 650-991-8119, it is a scam.If you receive a call or voicemail from 650-991-8119 regarding a "cybercrime, fraud investigation, that you have a warrant out for your arrest,” or other similar issues, please do not give out any information to the person calling and hang up. Our officers will not call you from 650-991-8119 and would never ask for money, money orders, gift cards, or any sort of financial compensation. If you receive a phone call from this number asking you to come in person to the Daly City Police Department, it is likely part of the scam. Please first contact the Daly City Police Department, or your local police agency directly, and verify the request before going to the police department.

Free Compost Giveaway Event
The City is partnering with its waste hauler, Republic Services, to host a free compost giveaway event at the Department of Water & Wastewater Resources (153 Lake Merced Boulevard) from Wednesday, November 20 through Thursday, November 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. To participate in the compost giveaway, please bring a sturdy container, shovels, and gloves for this self-serve event. Residents must show proof of residency and are limited to five (5) 5-gallon buckets of compost per household. The event is weather permitting and will be canceled in case of rain.
