Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection to an October assault following an investigation.
On October 25, at approximately 8:21 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 1900 block of Shallcross Avenue in reference to an assault. Upon arrival, police located a 53-year-old male victim, who was transported to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
The case was assigned to Detective Brendan Wham of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Wham identified 59-year-old Michael Boyer as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest. On November 13, Boyer was taken into custody without incident.
Boyer has been charged with the following offenses:
- Assault (Second Degree)
- Strangulation
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $10,000 cash-only bail.
