News Story-Camarillo Vehicle Tampering Arrest

Nature of Incident: Arrest Made of Suspicious Subject Attempting to Unlawfully Open a Vehicle.

Camarillo deputies contacted and arrested Wesley Fenton from Camarillo for vehicle tampering and a parole hold. 
 
On November 15, 2024, a Camarillo resident was sitting in her vehicle when a suspicious subject approached the vehicle and attempted to open the car door.  The subject was later identified as Wesley Fenton.  Fenton began saying inappropriate comments towards the victim.  After Fenton was confronted by the victim, he walked away.  The victim was able to record the incident with her cellphone.  The victim called 911 to report the incident.    
 
Patrol deputies responded and contacted the victim.  Patrol deputies reviewed the video footage and immediately recognized the subject as Wesley Fenton, who is a known criminal offender in the city of Camarillo.  Numerous patrol deputies searched the area and located Fenton in the area.  Fenton was detained and arrested for tampering with the victim’s vehicle, a violation of Vehicle Code 10852.  Fenton is currently on active probation for Penal Code 314 - Indecent Exposure and on active parole for Penal Code 69 – Resisting Officers.  Pursuant to Wesley’s Parole term he was placed on a Parole Hold and booked into the Ventura County Main Jail.
