NEWS RELEASE – Death Investigation.
On Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at 11:30 p.m., Santa Clara Police Department (SCPD) officers responded to the 3400 block of The Alameda in Santa Clara to investigate the report of a 14-year-old male who committed suicide. When officers arrived, emergency crews from the Santa Clara Fire Department were on scene performing life-saving measures. Despite attempts from emergency responders, the male juvenile was pronounced deceased at 11:36 p.m.
The preliminary police investigation did not yield any evidence of foul play. This remains an open and active investigation. Detectives are reviewing the facts and circumstances available to them to help provide a complete picture of this tragic event. The Investigations Division is reviewing evidence and all factors including bullying that may reveal what may have led up to the juvenile’s death.
The Santa Clara Police Department offers our condolences to the family and friends of the juvenile. We understand the loss of a loved one is a tragic event and we encourage anyone who may be struggling to reach out for help which may include suicide prevention hotlines and or mental health professionals.
