FATAL ACCIDENT AT MERIDIAN ROAD INTERSECTION
MERIDIAN- On 11/15/2024, at about 3:45 PM, the Meridian Police and Fire Departments responded to a two vehicle, roll-over traffic crash with injuries near the intersection of S. Meridian Rd. and W. Calderwood St. Upon their arrival officers located two vehicles, a White Toyota Passenger Car and a White Utility Truck, with extensive damage. Immediate life saving measures were undertaken but it was apparent that the 28-year-old male driver of the Prius had suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash. The other party involved, 18-years-old male, was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. This collision resulted in a hard road closure of southbound S. Meridian Rd. between Overland Rd. and E. Rosalyn Dr., causing additional traffic congestion during the evening commute.
Crews from Meridian Fire, Ada County Paramedics, and Meridian Police Department responded to the call.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Meridian Police Department.
