Tuxedo Fire Chief reports that the Long Meadow Rd. side of the fire is mostly under control and they are performing mop up operations to quench hot spots with air drops from helicopters. Backburn operations were successful over the past 2 days which removed most of the available fuels. There will still be some moderate smoke in the area but the winds are pushing it towards NJ.

If you must travel in the Long Meadow Rd. corridor, please exercise caution.

We will begin to stand down Nixle advisories over the next 2 days. If there is a remarkable change in the fire status, we will resume notifications.
