The Tuxedo side of the Jennings Creek fire is still quiet. Firefighters have been actively monitoring the area and have confirmed there is no evidence of new fire activity near Long Meadow Rd.
Overnight however, the Greenwood Lake side of the mountain experienced a flare of fire activity which is now under control. Our firefighters have noticed a heavy increase in deer activity on Long Meadow Rd. running from the fire on the GWL side.
Please exercise extreme caution when traveling on Long Meadow Rd. Travel at slower speeds in order to prepare for a possible deer encounter.
