Traffic Stop Leads to Discovery of a Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Narcotics

DATE/TIME: November 10, 2024 / 09:48 P.M. 

INCIDENT: HS 11370.1- Possession of a Controlled Substance while Armed, PC29800- Felon in Possession of a Firearm, PC30305- Prohibited Possession of Ammunition

LOCATION: Marshall Boulevard/ Del Rosa Avenue, San Bernardino

SUSPECT(S): Marcos Gonzalez, 43 year old resident of Riverside

VICTIM(S): State of California 


SUMMARY: On November 10, 2024, at approximately 09:48 p.m., Deputy L. Skinner from Central Station, conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Marshall Boulevard and Del Rosa Avenue in the city of San Bernardino. Skinner contacted the driver, Marcos Gonzalez, and learned he had a felony warrant out of Riverside County. Skinner detained Gonzalez. During a search of the vehicle, Deputy Skinner, Deputy T. Larson and Deputy A. Fonzi, located an unregistered firearm in the center console and a firearm magazine, which included ammunition. Gonzalez also had approximately 12.9 grams of suspected cocaine and multiple methamphetamine pipes on his person. 

Gonzalez was booked into the Central Detention Center for being a felon in possession of a firearm, prohibited possession of ammunition and being in possession of a controlled substance while armed.
