IMPD and Indianapolis Colts Launch Recruitment Partnership to Strengthen Public Safety

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) is excited to announce the launch of its new recruitment partnership with the Indianapolis Colts. This collaboration is aimed at attracting new recruits to join IMPD and serve the city of Indianapolis.

“Teamwork, leadership, and resilience are skills that translate not just on the field, but into a successful and rewarding career in law enforcement. By joining forces with the Colts, we’re able to share that message with a wider audience and also inspire future officers to protect and serve the city we all love,” said Chief Chris Bailey.

To highlight this partnership, Colts Center Ryan Kelly visited the IMPD Training Academy Tuesday evening to engage with participants of the department’s Pre-Academy Readiness (PAR) program. Kelly is the son of an Ohio State Police Officer and has seen firsthand the impact that strong community and police partnerships can have.

The PAR program is designed to prepare candidates for the physical and mental challenges they’ll face at the Training Academy. Each session includes a structured workout, helping participants improve their fitness and build the endurance required for police training.

Colts’ fans will see IMPD recruitment messages featured on outdoor marquees during select games, in publications like the Colts Scout and Yearbook, and hear radio spots on 93.5/1070 The Fan as well as 97.1 Hank FM promoting IMPD opportunities. Additionally, IMPD recruiters have had a visible presence at various Colts games and in American Family insurance Touchdown Town, giving them a chance to connect directly with community members who may be interested in a career in public safety.

“The Colts of course work closely with IMPD each season, but our commitment to and gratitude for the department goes far beyond our gamedays,” said Steve Campbell, Colts' Vice President of Communications & External Affairs. “The Colts are happy to use our platform to help highlight IMPD’s recruitment efforts and attract men and women who truly want to serve others and make our community a better place to live, work and raise a family,” he added.

IMPD continues to seek qualified, dedicated individuals to join the ranks of the department, helping to keep Indianapolis a safe place to live, work, and play. Those interested in joining the department can apply today at JoinIMPD.Indy.gov.
