PSA: This Department received multiple reports of unlocked vehicles being rummaged through while parked in driveways during the early morning hours this date. These incidents occurred in the hamlet of North White Plains.

These incidents are crimes of opportunity and we ask for your assistance in taking the necessary steps to prevent these incidents and safeguard our community. Although no cars were stolen this date we must remind residents that almost all vehicles that have been stolen over the recent years in North Castle have had their key fobs left in the vehicle. Please stay alert, and take the necessary precautions to safeguard your property to include;

1. Take your vehicle’s key/fob when you park.
2. Close and lock all windows and doors when you park.
3. Park in well-lit areas if possible.
4. Never leave valuables in your vehicle, especially if they can be seen from outside your vehicle.
