Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured suspect, who fired a weapon on October 21, 2024.
At approximately 6:45 p.m., the suspect was captured on surveillance video firing one round in the air in the 30 block of Arsdale Place. Police officers responded to the location after the shot spotter detection system picked up the shooting. When they arrived, officers found one spent casing. The Black male suspect left the scene, walking eastbound on Arsdale Place and northbound on Grand Street. He wore a blue hooded sweatshirt, a blue hat, and dark-colored pants.
Director Miranda urges anyone with information about the suspect’s identity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are confidential and could result in a reward.
