Reference:  Fatal Crash
 
The Norton Shores Police and Fire Departments responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Grand Haven and Sternberg Rd on November 23, 2024, at 4:30 PM. The crash was later determined to be a fatal traffic crash.
 
Upon arrival, officers and firefighters found a 2018 Honda CRV and a 2016 Honda Accord in the intersection.  The driver of the Honda CRV, an 84-year-old resident of Norton Shores, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Honda Accord, a 71-year-old resident of Norton Shores, was extracted from their vehicle and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased.  No other occupants were in the vehicles at the time of the crash.
 
The Honda CRV was traveling northbound on Grand Haven and failed to stop at a red light, striking the Honda Accord that was traveling westbound on Sternberg. The crash remains under investigation.
