FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
FBI Announces the Arrest of Bombing Suspect Daniel San Diego in Wales
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has successfully apprehended Daniel Andreas San Diego, a suspect wanted for a 2003 bombing in Emeryville, California. The arrest took place in Wales with the assistance of United Kingdom authorities.
The bombing, which occurred on August 28, 2003, resulted in damage to a biotech company. There were no injuries reported. A secondary device was located on scene and detonated prior to Alameda County Sherriff’s Office explosive detonation team arrived. This event prompted an extensive investigation led by the FBI and ATF.
San Diego was identified as the primary suspect in October 2003 and added to the FBI’s Most Wanted List in 2009. His capture marks the culmination of over two decades of relentless effort by the FBI, ATF, and international law enforcement partners.
The Emeryville Police Department would like to extend its gratitude to the FBI, ATF and United Kingdom authorities for their critical support in bringing this case to a close.
All media inquiries regarding this case should be directed to the FBI.
