Pair Charged with Metals Theft
Deputy Ryan Washburn with McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Jimmy Lee Mahan, 42, of Marion, with felony Larceny. He was given no bond due to being out on pretrial release.
Deputy Washburn also charged Daphne Marie Holland, 41, of Marion, with felony Larceny. She received a secured bond in the amount of $10,000.
On November 24, Washburn and Deputy Caleb Baliles responded to a call involving a male and female subject stealing copper wire and transformers from the area. Upon arrival to the scene, Mahan and Holland were parked with two Chevrolet trucks that contained fiber optic copper wire in the bed of one truck and a large transformer on the trailer.
Mahan and Holland were taken into custody and both vehicles were towed.
