Planned Meet-Up to Sell Cell Phone Ends in Robbery and Assault with a Deadly Weapon

DATE/TIME: November 25, 2024 / 6:00 p.m.

INCIDENT: Robbery, Assault with a Deadly Weapon

LOCATION: 12700 block of Main Street, Hesperia

SUSPECT: Confidential, 17-year-old Female 

VICTIM: Confidential, 17-year-old Female   


SUMMARY: On November 25, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m., deputies with the Hesperia Police Department responded to the 12700 block of Main Street in the city of Hesperia, reference a vehicle vs. pedestrian call for service that was later determined to be a robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. 

Upon deputies’ arrival, it was learned the victim arrived at the location and attempted to sell a phone to the suspect. The victim and the suspect spoke for a short time before the suspect took the victim’s phone and fled the location to a vehicle. The victim followed the suspect in an attempt to stop the suspect from leaving and retrieve the phone. The suspect entered the vehicle and struck the victim with the vehicle. The suspect fled the location prior to deputies’ arrival. The victim was transported to a trauma center for treatment of injuries and is in critical condition. 

On November 26, 2024, investigators with the Hesperia Police Department conducted a follow up investigation and identified the suspect. Upon the service of a search warrant, investigators located the suspect, along with the victim’s phone and additional evidence. The suspect was arrested and booked at the High Desert Juvenile Detention Center for PC 211- Robbery and PC 245 (a)(4) – Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Great Bodily Injury.
